3 most popular messaging apps Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger will be integrated by Facebook very soon.
The purpose of this integration is to link all the messages can travel between any of the services.
Facebook did mention this as a long process.
New Your Times first reported about this and also, they mentioned this project as one of the personal ones of Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook.
After the merge is complete, anyone has a Facebook account can directly send message to someone who only has WhatsApp account. Since at this moment none of these applications are have any common core, this particular service seems impossible.
The back-end process of merging these 3 apps has begun and that is expected to be finished by the end of 2019 or early 2020.
So far, as we can have seen these 3 apps are run an individual and competing product too.
Facebook’s work will be simplified if these messaging parts get integrated. These apps don’t even need to develop any extra features since there are many features these apps have already built in.
This cross-platform may also lead potential customers to message another platform on business purposes. Through this Facebook can share one data across all the apps for advertising purpose.
Mr. Zuckerberg is constantly trying to make it successful for customers and for business growth.
In a statement Facebook said, “We want to build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want messaging to be fast, simple, reliable and private. We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks.”
But there were a lot of discussions and debate about the service if this actually work.
